Friday Poll: Welcome to the Hotel Gadget

Let's say you're staying at a nice hotel on vacation, and you'll have plenty of time to relax. As a reader of Crave, it's likely your relaxation has something to do with using gear. Hotels are starting to include gadgets (for free or for a nominal fee) as an incentive, and it's a great idea.

But we'd like to know which gadget offering would most entice you to choose one hotel over another next time you're on holiday. Vote in our poll. And if we missed anything, let us know in our TalkBack … Read more

Friday Poll: We the ppl--imagining a digital 1776

Happy (almost) Fourth of July!

Two hundred thirty-three years ago, our nation's founders declared independence from Great Britain. But nailing down a final version of the Declaration of Independence took time, with the writers (or more likely their couriers) flitting about on horses with drafts, as the authors debated phrasing and passed edits around.

That got us thinking: which tool of the Digital Age would have had the greatest influence on the course of American history? Vote in our poll, and as always, chime in with your own ideas in the TalkBack section below.

Friday Poll: Which Android app will Google ban first?

This week we got a close look at HTC's latest Android device, the Hero, and saw leaked images of another, the HTC Firestone, a possible successor to the HTC Touch HD.

As we start to see more and more Android devices, we'll probably see a boom in the Android marketplace, which not long ago banned tethering apps.

But we have to wonder: with all the discussion around Apple pulling a softcore-porn app from its App Store this week, which app would Google be most likely to nix from the Android Marketplace for being a violation of terms?

Friday Poll: And for Twitter's next trick...

This week, we talked a lot about how Twitter is impacting the real world--as a means of conveying information about the political situation in Iran, for example, and as a ThinkGeek T-shirt theme.

But probably our most-discussed Twitter story was about a guy who got his old Commodore 64 connected to the microblogging service. It's an awesome and fun project, and it got us wondering: where's Twitter going to show up next?

Vote in our poll, and if you come up with possible uses we missed, let us know in our TalkBack section.

Friday Poll: When gadgets hurt

We've known about the supposed threat of "BlackBerry Thumb" and "Wii knees" for a while now. This week, we brought you word of yet another reported tech-related syndrome: "cell phone elbow."

As personal tech gets smaller and more ubiquitous, we can likely expect reports of more such conditions. Which of the following are you most afraid will afflict you?

Of course, we may have missed something. If so, let us know in the TalkBack section below.

Friday Poll: Which phone has you holding your breath?

What a week of high-end phone news and rumors this has been. The next few weeks, if the speculation is to be believed, will completely shuffle the smartphone market, with no less than four top devices either getting overhauls or debuting.

We're excited about all of them (natch), but we'd like to know which one you're most stoked to see. Vote in our poll.

Friday Poll: Rifling through the gadget rumors

As we inch closer toward two rather large gadget-world events in the beginning of June (Apple's WWDC and Computex in Taiwan), the rumor mill has been working overtime.

This week in particular, the speculation has been keeping our heads spinning. Will we see a slimmer PlayStation 3? A PSP, iPod Touch, and Nintendo DSi killer all rolled into one device?

Which bit of hearsay do you find the most plausible? Vote in our poll.

Friday Poll: Best Mother's Day gift for a geeky mom?

Mother's Day is approaching--in less than 48 hours! Quick, what are you getting for the dear woman who birthed/raised you?

If your mom is like mine, she doesn't pick out her own gadgets, so Sunday will be a great time to shower her with all sorts of newfangled (to her) technology.

We've come up with several (admittedly stereotypical) mom-oriented gifts. Which are you most likely to give? Got some other ideas? Let us know in the TalkBack section below.

Friday Poll: Would Wolverine be better off in Marvel's hands?

Friday marks the release of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," the first X-Men movie in three years, and the first ever to focus on one character. Now X-Men and Wolverine are properties of Marvel Comics, but Fox still owns the movie rights to all things X-Men and handles the production of X-Men movies, the same way Marvel produced "Iron Man."

Early word on Wolverine is that while Hugh Jackman puts his best claws forward, the film, some say, is poorly written and saddled with a cliched plot.

Also, some of the changes that one of the fan-favorite characters … Read more

Friday Poll: The next great culinary contraption?

This week, we got a gander at the Noodle Waterslide from Japanese toymaker Bandai, and it looks fun. But it shouldn't be forced to sit at the dinner table alone. We think there should be a whole amusement park for food!

Which of these imaginary culinary contraptions would you try first if you saw them all on the table? Or maybe you have other ideas? Tell us in our TalkBack section below.
