Craving NYC: What New Yorkers don't crave

This blog is called Crave. On it, we write about gadgets and other related goodies that we crave. It's kind of logical, you know?

But this week, my video blog explores some things that we don't crave: namely, the old-school gadgetry that gets dropped off at the Lower East Side Ecology Center's post-holiday electronics recycling drop-off. There's some pretty nutty stuff in there. (Infrared trash cans, anyone?)

Stop by next Wednesday for an all-new urban tech adventure. I'll let you in on a secret: I don't actually know what it's going to be … Read more

Crave: Now in Smell-O-Vision!

Don't worry, you won't smell anything unsavory when watching this video, I promise. Somehow, we're still not sick of talking about gadgets after being at CES 2007 in Las Vegas--in fact, we've returned with a whole new appreciation for the weird and random! I'm joined this week by Ariel Nuñez of Gadgettes fame. Here are the links:

Craving NYC: Downtown chic meets Wii Sports

We took a break from Craving NYC last week so that you all could savor the multitude of exciting announcements coming from CES and Macworld. But now that's over, and I have a new video blog adventure to share with you.

Recently, I had the opportunity to check out some high-tech fun at the Hotel Gansevoort, one of those hotspots in the Meatpacking District of downtown Manhattan--you know, the kind of place that shows up in the pages of Us Weekly because of its celebrity clientele. But one thing you don't read about in the gossip columns is … Read more

Crave goes to Vegas for CES

Today is my last day here in Vegas, and I still haven't even begun to see everything I wanted to! However, Rich DeMuro and I had a chance to walk around the South Hall and the Sands Convention Center to find some truly craveable gadgets. I'll be back next week with another special guest host in San Francisco. See you then!

Craving NYC: Our new video blog

It goes without saying that these days, we're all living the digital life. But sometimes it's still pretty cool to see the small and not-so-small ways in which technology permeates the world we live in. And that's why I'm launching Crave's latest feature, a weekly video blog in which I find the coolest techno-happenings in my beloved home city of New York and document them with a handheld camcorder and a video crew consisting of...me.

This week, for my inaugural post, I check out the creative, innovative, and often totally absurd fusions of art … Read more

Crave's holiday wish list

Veronica welcomes special guest, CNET TV host Tom Merritt to talk about their holiday wish lists. We also read some wish lists that a couple viewers sent in. In a surprise move, Veronica lays an egg. No, seriously, take a look.

Editor's note: This episode was recorded 11/27, before James Kim's absence was known.

Crave previews CES

Hey everyone. At lot of you have written in, asking what the fate of the Crave video podcast will be after the loss of our dear friend and Crave cohost, James Kim. Obviously, it's very hard for me to imagine doing the show without him, but it's also something that I love doing and care about very much.

For the next couple of weeks, we're going to give you a preview of some of the neat stuff that we'll be looking at during CES, and I also intend to podcast from the show itself. We'll … Read more

Gimme, gimme! Crave's wish list

The Crave editors are posting their wish lists, so I felt a little left out. Most of this is wishful thinking, but James and I have hope that someone out there will hear our pleas for expensive gadgets! Just kidding, you don't have to buy anything for us. Instead, send us links to the stuff you're seeing online that you can't live without in the new year!

Wow, man, Crave gets, like, totally psychedelic

It's alive! Alive!

We bring a little Bluetooth robot named De-Botz into the world in this episode, and he is such a sweetheart! Until, that is, he gets a little too close. But I digress. Here are the links for today's topics:

I can deal with the printer that makes coffee (I'll take coffee whenever I can get it), but the trippy flowers are too much for me. Keep sending in those links; we're getting some good stuff. Until next time!
