FastFontMenu Patcher There is a problem with FastFontMenu 2.0 and some applications (so far, mostly standalone HyperCard stacks). To solve the problems, use FastFontMenu Patcher. It will disable FastFontMenu for applications which have problems with it. A revised version of FastFontMenu, that fixes the problem altogether, is expected soon.

FastFontMenu 2.0 is now available (it's also here in the Download Library). "FastFontMenu 2.0 is a new and mostly rewritten version of FastFontMenu. It speeds the process of building the font menu in most applications, which can be quite slow if you have a lot of fonts installed. It also caches the built font menu, so in most cases, the menu is built almost instantaneously. FastFontMenu 2 is compatible with MacOS 7.x through 8.5.1."

MRJ 2.1 is out Apple's Mac OS Runtime for Java (MRJ) 2.1 is out. The Read Me file notes that "MRJ 2.1 makes many improvements over previous versions, including greatly increased performance, improved reliability, and support for AppleScript. Extensions Strip 1.9.1 is out. This Control Strip replacement "adds a number of small improvements."

Process Manager 1.4.2 is out. This is a Control Strip module that allows you to view and switch between your Mac's processes. The update displays the new 32-bit icons under OS 8.5 and lets the file dialog be displayed in Control Strip 2.0 and Extensions Strip 1.9.1.

ixMicro drivers update fixes Mac OS 8.5.1 sleep bug A new 1.05.102 driver is out. It works with all of Mac ix3D products, including ix3D Road Rocket and the ix3D Ultimate Rez cards Apple bundles with the Mac G3. PowerMenu v2.2.2 has been released. The new version provides the specific icon for each item on the Quick Access popup menu under MacOS 8.5 (icons are still generic under earlier releases of the MacOS). AppleEvents no longer time out when cutting & pasting very large files in the Finder. Some memory management improvements are also included.
