Shoot up the taste with a spice gun

I'm a big fan of spices and seasonings: they can really change a dish from bland to amazing. I like to have fun with my spices, though, and I think the Spice Gun is just the ticket. A Chinese designer, Zhu Fei, came up with the idea of the Spice Gun: instead of shaking out your preferred spice, this gadget 'shoots' it out, using compressed air to push seasonings out of the gun.

There are three barrels in the Spice Gun, allowing you to load it up with the spices of your choice--you can change up your ammo by … Read more

Throw away your measuring spoons

For the chef who likes to keep their kitchen clean as they're cooking, traditional measuring spoons are a pain in the neck. Especially if you use them when you're baking, having to repeatedly wash your set of measuring spoons in between half teaspoons of baking soda, cinnamon, cumin, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper gets really annoying. I have the kind of measuring spoon with a slider that can be set to different increments, so I have to wash mine every time it's used while I'm cooking.

On the show today: Wilson and Justin do karaoke, box office and various weekend exploits, unhappy subway customers get irate, convicted pedophile sues American Express, and men's tights are the new metrosexual trend!

Waterproof speakers for the toiletry kit

For some unfortunate reason, companies seem to think that waterproof speakers have to blend in with toiletries. A few, in fact, seem practically indistinguishable from shampoo bottles.

What's particularly disappointing about this latest model on the Japanese market is that it comes from Pioneer, which isn't a name usually associated with personal effects in the bathroom. The pink, blue, and white nursery colors don't help either. But we supposed it'll do the trick for around $40, with a waterproof "pouch" large enough to hold an iPod or other average-sized MP3 player, which connects to … Read more

Deary, I have spices older than you

With Thanksgiving only a few days away, the holiday season is near. For some, it's a time to begin taking stock of the past year. For example, did you stick to your New Year's resolutions? (Eat more chocolate? Check!)

For others--namely, holiday bakers--it's a time to take stock of what's in the pantry. You want to be sure that pumpkin cheesecake with bourbon sauce is going to turn out just right. So, you open the pantry, upend all the baking staples and check the "best by" dates.

You save the spices for last … Read more

Good news for the sweaty-palmed gamer

Sure, there are plenty of products to keep computers from overheating, but what about the people who use them? We're talking specifically about those familiar gamers who are known for giving their deodorants a run for their money.

To combat overactive sweat glands, Thermaltake has developed some accessories for the hardcore pwner that are designed to blend in with other gaming equipment, unlike a portable fan from K-mart. To wit: The "Anti-Perspiration Wrist Pad" (this is the actual name on the logo).

Although it could easily be mistaken for a set of speakers, as Newlaunches notes, this … Read more
