Canonical has just signed its first deal to supply a smartphone with its mobile operating system, Canonical founder and product strategy leader Mark Shuttleworth revealed in an interview here at the LeWeb conference. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has taken notes from 10 million wallets. Samsung has announced it has sold 10 million Note 3 phablets in just 60 days -- clearly the new faux-leather styling is a hit.

Granted Tuesday by the US Patent and Trademark Office, a patent dubbed simply "Curved touch sensor" outlines a technical process to achieve higher-quality curved displays.
