New HTC One X+ details trickle out

A smattering of hardware specs for the rumored HTC One X+ arrived online courtesy of an anonymous XDA developer known as Football4PDA.

According to his unconfirmed tweet, the faster and more powerful One X will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 4.5 and offer a 1.6GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor. Like the original model, the One X+ should also boast 1GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 1,800mAh battery.

Motorola's new phone could offer edge-to-edge screen

A few more details trickled out today regarding the new Android smartphone that Motorola is expected to unveil next week.

More evidence suggests Sept. 21 iPhone release

Though we've already heard that the Apple's next iPhone may land in stores September 21, today more fuel was added to that rumor fire.

Citing a "trusted Verizon employee," TechCrunch reported today that Big Red has imposed a staff vacation blackout from September 21 to 30. The source didn't reveal the reason for the blackout or to which employees it might apply, but an iPhone 5 release is a likely possibility. CNET has reached out to Verizon for comment, and we'll update this update this story with additional information.

LG Optimus Vu may arrive stateside in a few weeks

The 5-inch LG Optimus Vu could arrive at a U.S. wireless provider in the next few weeks, fresh with support for a 4G LTE network.

An LG press release (translated) indicates that the Android smartphone is due stateside at some point in the third quarter. LG doesn't discuss carrier specifics, but recent signs indicate Verizon will be up first.

HTC working on phablet of its own, rumors suggest

HTC is ready to take on the Samsung Galaxy Note with a phone/tablet hybrid device of its own, according to recent reports.

A DigiTimes source advises that the HTC device features a 5-inch display with a 1,794x1,080-pixel resolution and is slated to arrive in September or October. That means the full resolution of the device could be 1,920x1,080 pixels with 126 vertical lines reserved for Android's onscreen buttons.

Windows Phone 8 to get curvy one-handed keyboard?

You've got an important text to send, but you're also trying to flag down a taxi, make a rude gesture at an enemy, or fight off a marauding seagull. It's a nightmare scenario, but possibly not for much longer, as leaked spy-shots suggest Windows Phone 8 devices will feature a one-handed one-screen keyboard.

WMPoweruser got ahold of the picture above, which reportedly comes from a leaked Microsoft Research presentation. As you can see, the keyboard is curved to fit your thumb, with individual characters sorted into distinct blocks.
