Another Samsung Galaxy S III image paints a clearer picture

With so many interested parties digging for early information about the Samsung Galaxy S III, the successor to its immensely popular Galaxy S II Android handset, it's no surprise that multiple sources are claiming to strike gold with leaked images and specs.

Samsung Galaxy S III shipping with quad-core Exynos chip?

Samsung's Galaxy S III hasn't been unveiled just yet, but that doesn't mean the rumors surrounding the device will stop.

The Korea Times reported yesterday that it recently sat down with an unidentified Samsung executive who told the publication that the Galaxy S III will ship with the company's quad-core Exynos chip. The move, if true, could be a major blow to Qualcomm's mobile chips division, which has been providing processors to Samsung for quite some time.

Samsung Galaxy S III image could be the real thing

Samsung's promised Galaxy S III got more attention late last week when another alleged photo of the smartphone whipped Android fanboys into a frenzy

Initially posted on Reddit, the photo of the handset appears to be real enough and matches up with a few previous rumors.

Diablo III raging May 15

The wait for Diablo III is nearly over. Blizzard Entertainment today attached a May 15 release date to the long-awaited action role-playing game. Gamers can prepurchase the title today on Battle.net.

Beginning on May 15, gamers can purchase Diablo III at brick-and-mortar retailers throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Additionally, players in those regions--as well as in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil--will be able to purchase a digital copy of Diablo III via Battle.net.

Assassin's Creed III confirmed for Wii U

Assassin's Creed III will mark the series debut on a Nintendo home system.

Ubisoft today confirmed that the next installment in its stealth action series is in development for the Wii U in addition to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The game is due for release October 30.

Set during the American Revolution, Assassin's Creed III features a new protagonist with a mixed Native America-English heritage. Named Ratohnhaké:ton but going by Connor, the hero of Assassin's Creed III will inject himself into the ongoing struggle between the Templars and the Assassins.

The game is being built by Ubisoft Montreal and six collaborating studios on a new engine called Ubisoft-AnvilNext. The publisher is promising "breakthroughs in visual quality, character models, and artificial intelligence" thanks to AnvilNext.

Samsung Galaxy S III to debut by April?

Will Samsung unveil its next major smartphone next month? One report says yes. The company says no.

The Galaxy S III will reportedly make its grand entrance in April as part of an ad campaign related to the 2012 Olympics in London, according to sources cited by ZDNet Korea (English translation).

ZDNet apparently received its intel from Cheil Worldwide, an ad agency owned by Samsung. The Korean handset maker will be a major sponsor of this year's summer games. So Samsung may be aiming to launch the new phone in time for the opening ceremony in July, speculates CNET UK.… Read more

Will you splurge on the Canon 5D Mark III? (poll)

The Canon 5D Mark III made its glorious debut yesterday, sending many a photographer's heart aflutter.

With such improvements as a new 22.3-megapixel sensor, enhanced video capabilities, faster continuous shooting, and a better viewfinder (to name just a few features), we're sure many of you are fantasizing about picking up the full-frame dSLR when it starts shipping in a few weeks. Its steep $3,500 price tag, however, just might snap you back to reality.

Given that the camera calls for such a large chunk of change, it should come as no surprise that there's renewed buzz around the 5D Mark III's predecessor. As CNET digital-imaging Senior Editor Lori Grunin rightly points out, though the 5D Mark III is obviously a big deal, Canon's plan to drop the price of the 5D Mark II is news in and of itself. … Read more
