Logitech goes wireless with new high-end guitar and drum kit Guitar Hero controllers

At last month's Logitech preview in New York, we got our hands on some serious musical instrument accessories coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 that are licensed by Activision to work with Guitar Hero games.

The Logitech Wireless Drum Controller has fully adjustable drum heads and cymbals. When we quickly demoed the kit we noticed the heads are also fitted with a unique padding--which we're told reduces noise when hit. The entire kit is collapsible, too, which is good when floor space is an issue. The company claims it'll get up to 50 hours of … Read more

Logitech introduces new PC speaker lineup

Logitech has four new PC speakers for 2009, ranging in price from $69.99 to $129.99. None of the new speakers are USB-powered and all feature what the company calls "360-degree sound," which "helps project audio evenly in all directions."

The company's gone away from the modern, squarish design of its USB-powered Z5 omnidirectional speakers and gone with a more traditional PC speaker design. Two of the new models ship with subwoofers and two don't. Logitech says all its new PC speaker systems will ship this month (we'll be getting review samples … Read more

Squeezebox Duet firmware update fixes connectivity issues

The Logitech Squeezebox Duet was given an enthusiastic Editors' Choice award when CNET reviewed it back in March of 2008. But the audio streamer is a two-part product that's heavily reliant on Wi-Fi (both the iPod-like remote and the base station communicate to each other--and your home network--wirelessly). And many users have experienced a problem wherein the Controller (the remote) fails to reconnect to the network or recognize the Squeezebox base station after "waking up" from a period of inactivity. The issue has been widely reported online, from CNET's user reviews to Logitech's own support forums. … Read more

A very special 404 throwback episode!

Assault with a deadly burger, bar bathroom toiletries, perfect strokes, black balls and boba straws, and Asian gangstas are just a few of the topics brought up by today's guest, Mr. Brian Tong from CNET TV! This might be the most perverted, nasty, NSFW, and all around hilarious show EVAR- OMGBBQ!

I don't even know where to begin. Brian Tong, star of CNET TV's The Apple Byte joins … Read more

Logitech introduces 'simulator-grade' flight controller

Flight-sim enthusiasts take note that Logitech has unveiled the $299 Flight System G940 at E3. It's the company's first force-feedback flight simulation controller, and Logitech says that its design and control were inspired by military and commercial planes and helicopters.

Available in September, the G940 is compatible with most popular PC flight simulators, including Microsoft Flight Simulator X, IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 and Lock On: Modern Air Combat X-Plane 9. Logitech says the force feedback technology allows you to "control your aircraft with confidence as you feel its movement as well as its reaction to air, turbulence, and g-forces."

Windows SideShow hearts Logitech keyboards

We just love it when a company gives more value to consumers without expecting them to fork out a single cent (Apple, are you listening?). The secondary panels of the Logitech gaming keyboards, the G15 and G19, are now Windows SideShow-enabled.

All you need to do is to download the latest firmware to get this feature gratis. Windows SideShow panels first appeared as external secondary displays on the Asus W5fe and LG R200-Q, though since then no new laptop models have SideShow-enabled LCDs.

Windows SideShow is a feature in Vista that lets an auxiliary panel display information, such as contacts, … Read more
