It's becoming obvious that Apple TV is not a hobby anymore.

A federal magistrate ruled this week that Sony can subpoena the ISP of a hacker who has released a PlayStation 3 jailbreak, as well as order Twitter, Google, and YouTube to hand over information from his accounts on those sites.

Sony is suing George Hotz, alleging that he violated the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the Computer Fraud Abuse Act for distributing on his Web site his tools for jailbreaking the PS3, which enable PS3 owners to run home brew and pirated applications on their console. The DMCA prohibits the trafficking of devices designed to circumvent copy protection technologies.

Fancy playing PlayStation 3 exclusive game titles such as Gran Turismo 5 on any iOS device? A company by the name of Pandaelf has recently cobbled together a system to deliver exactly this function.

The exact science behind the contraption is quite technical, but it basically utilizes a PC as the middleman between the Sony console and Apple product. Other major components include a keyboard, mouse, and capturing device connected to the console, as well as a custom-built version of the firm's everyAir software and an input interpreter running on the PC.

Pandaelf plans to release a fully customizable copy of everyAir in the future. Until then, check out the above iPhone and iPad demonstrations with in-game touch controls.

Among the sea of trite and unimaginative first-person-shooters is Bulletstorm, the latest offering from developers Epic Games and People Can Fly, some of the fine folks who brought us the Gears of War franchise.

Bulletstorm has been touted as a departure from the typical cookie cutter first-person-shooter. Does it achieve that distinction or sink to the bottom?

Jeff: In the weeks leading up to its release, the marketing minds behind Bulletstorm sent shockwaves through the gaming world by attempting to attract gamers who were sick of the same old shooter experience. To reinforce the campaign further, a parody game called "Duty Calls: The Calm Before the Storm" was developed to poke fun at modern shooters and their redundancies, clearly singling out the Call of Duty franchise as major culprits.

Thin is the line between party and sex party.

A few more drinks, a little more Prince, and suddenly what started out as innocent suburban fun turns into debauchery that will be gossiped about for years to come.

The makers of a new game for Wii and PS3 called "We Dare" seem to want to help you cross that line. Created by Ubisoft, "We Dare" is, according to Kotaku, a game that may swiftly replace social icebreakers like the key party as the favored Friday night couple-relaxing entertainment in your subdivision.

While I wouldn't dream of encouraging such socially divisive behavior, the makers of "We Dare" would like to offer you about 35 "fun and flirtatious" games that will help you relax in the company of Mrs. Galloway from number 47. And her slightly creepy husband who always wears a check cardigan.

The "We Dare" trailer is already enjoying so many parody versions posted to YouTube that Ubisoft appears to be scrambling to protect its behind--I mean, copyright (YouTube has already yanked a few of the clips).

Some people, though, will be less concerned with Ubisoft's copyright and more concerned about how uber-titillation can make their weekends complete.… Read more
