The swan song for the current A8 brings a pretty major refresh. Audi's biggest sedan gets a new grille treatment plus some of the innovative tech launched in other models, such as Side Assist. This technology flashes a warning if you are about to change lanes when another car is in your blind spot.
The XF replaces the S-Type--and not a minute too soon. This new sedan from Jaguar represents the company's new design language, first seen in the Jaguar XK Coupe. The XF goes even more high tech, with a dial shifter for its automatic transmission and vents that hide when not in use. The navigation and music interface is particularly nice, and shows that the car has iPod and USB drive integration.
The latest crossover from Chrysler is all about flexibility. The Dodge Journey allows multiple seating configurations and includes some interesting tech in the dashboard. It can be ordered with Chrysler's MyGig entertainment system, which gives you navigation plus a hard drive to store music and pictures.
Nissan describes the Mixim as 99 percent evil and 1 percent cute. Nissan's concept uses two electric motors, one on each axle, but the company hasn't published many details about range, speed, or other performance specifications. The press materials say that this car is aimed at a younger generation that has turned away from oil-burning cars.
The 2007 Frankfurt auto show officially opens to the public on Saturday, but we've been getting a preview of the automotive delights on display for the past couple of days. BMW showed off its entry-level 135i sport coupe at the 2007 Frankfurt auto show. But with BMW, "entry-level" means one of the most exciting small cars available. Although the 135i is BMW's smallest four-seater, the company packs its incredible twin-turbo, 3-liter, straight six-cylinder engine under the hood.
