Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 tablet bigger, brawnier than S2109

Lenovo left a lot of room to improve its IdeaTab S2109, and so far the tablet's successor, announced today at IFA 2012, is a step up.

In a nutshell, the 10.1-inch Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 Android tablet promises a larger screen, a better processor, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. That camera comes with autofocus and LED flash; fingers crossed it captures crisp, detailed images.

Lenovo announces 9- and 7-inch Android 4.0 tablets

In addition to its Lenovo IdeaTab S2110, Lenovo unveiled two more Android 4.0 tablets today during IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany.

HTC's Desire X promises 'best-in-class camera'

If you own an HTC Desire or Wildfire that are much loved but getting toward the end of their useful life, HTC has lined up an affordable midrange replacement for your beloved 'droid with a bit more oomph under the hood.

The Desire X has a dual-core 1GHz chip, a 4-inch screen and runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), skinned with the latest version of HTC's Sense UI.

Samsung unveils Ativ S, world's first Windows Phone 8 device

If you've been wondering what the first dual-core Windows Phone would look like, this is it. Today, the Korean electronics giant took the wraps off the Samsung Ativ S, the world's first smartphone running Windows Phone 8.

The Ativ S (Ativ is "Vita" spelled backward) features a slim design, a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. There's also compatibility for HSPA+42.

In addition, the Ativ S packs in a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and an LED flash, and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera.

Archos unveils Android gaming tablet, GamePad

Today, Archos revealed its GamePad, a gaming tablet with a 7-inch touch screen.

Not only will the Wi-Fi only device function as a regular tablet, which includes having access to Google Play and its accompanying games, e-mail, the Web, and apps, but it will also have physical control buttons for gaming.

The GamePad will be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and a Mali 400 MP quad-core GPU.

LG's Optimus L9 features 4.7-inch display, OCR translator

LG took the wraps off the latest addition to its L-Series line of smartphones this evening.

Featuring Android 4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich), the Optimus L9 will sport a 1GHz dual-core processor and 4.7-inch IPS display. The 9.1-millimeter-thick L9 will also feature a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a high-density 2150 mAH SiO+ battery.
