2008 may have been a terrible year for planet Earth, but it was a great one for The 404. We want to thank all of our dedicated listeners, fans, chatroom buddies, and anyone who has ever called or wrote in to the show. The 404 is nothing without you and we … Read more
Today we have a fantastic interview with Prince of Persia level designer Michael McIntyre from Ubisoft. It's been nearly 20 years since the first PoP game, and Ubisoft has taken the series in a radically different direction. Unique art design and a new, fluid acrobatic system combine to make the newest PoP installment an instant hit. Check out the game here.
On the second half of the show, NDC and CMC help us to tackle some Calls from the Public. Big ups to Dr. Ethan for getting his 404 fix not once, but twice daily. We're not encouraging "click fraud" but we wouldn't criticize listeners who delete their entire 404 podcast collection and re-download everyday.
NDC recounts her close encounter with Danika McKellar, known for her unforgettable portrayal of Winnie on The Wonder Years. Apparently she's really into Math. CMC tries to explain that Seth Rogen's drastic weight loss is for an upcoming film role, not because he finally stopped taking bong rips for breakfast.EPISODE 250 Download today's podcast … Read more
Rana and CMC join the show for a "what's up" with iPhone apps and a warm farewell to the last dick. Is Steve Jobs alive? Will New Yorkers pay tax on their iPods? Will Guitar Hero ever add death metal tracks? All these answers and more on The 404. Did we mention that we've got two flesh and blood females on the show? Make sure to stick around until the end of the episode when we find out that Rana has a secret celebrity crush...EPISODE 249 Download today's podcast… Read more
Internet superstar, GameDaily editor-in-chief and Dan Ackerman "better half" Libe Goad joins us and we take this rare opportunity to talk video games for the entire episode! We hear Libe's holiday game picks, discuss rumors of a PSP2 and marvel at the ingenuity of a college student whose 360 was stolen from his dorm. Calls from the Public after the break fuel an intense discussion about the future for the PS3. Enjoy!
Dan the Mantern here. Something we talked about on the show needs to be settled once and for all. Remember "blowing" on game … Read more
Justin Yu is gone for the rest of 2008, so now we can finally get some stuff done. That includes talking to the Wicker Hollow guys about a recent controversial Saturday Night Live skit, George W. Bush's ability to dodge shoes, N.J. marijuana laws, and what it's like playing in a punk rock band.
Editor in Chief Libe Goad from AOL's Gamedaily.com will join us tomorrow to talk about all things gaming, so make sure you tune in for that one.EPISODE 247 Download today's podcast … Read more
Technically it's the "left" coast but yes, Justin Yu will be traveling three hours back in time next week as he makes his way back to California to spend the holidays with family. So my present to Justin is doing this blog post for him.
The 404 will continue on as we've got plenty of great guests planned for the last week of shows for 2008. Make sure you listen next week as we've got Wicker Hollow, Rana Sobhany, and Libe Goad all booked! Also, send us your best Morgan Freeman impressions for a chance to win the new Prince of Persia video game.
On today's show, we reminisce about last night's debauchery known as the "Black-Ops Holiday Party." Justin was a disaster after just three sips of rum and we've got the photographic evidence to prove it. We'll disclose those photos at a later date--maybe when he's gone next week.
Check out today's episode to learn more about the nude photographic habits of America's teenage population along with some great voice mails and e-mails from the public. Have a great weekend!EPISODE 246 Download today's podcast … Read more
What a sexy day on The 404. Today's show is naughty, raunchy, dirty, and whatever other words you wouldn't use to describe your mother. We've got a new bra for men in Japan, a web browser dedicated to the five-knuckle shuffle, a Twitter offshoot with a delightful name, and as always, a salute to our comrades leading the Asian-American renaissance.
Seriously, Wilson and Jeff, a friendship is nothing if you don't respect the dibs, so don't forget about what we talked about in the beginning of today's show. We're also happy to announce … Read more
Today's show features a new recurring guest segment featuring our two favorite ladies, codenamed Heavy and Flo! They'll join us once a month to bring a very refreshing female presence to this bromance. We're testing their ability to keep up with the dudes, and they pass with flying colors, discussing stories like Bill Murray's spot-on Bruce Wayne impression, Indiana's strict driver's license rules, Heavy's visit to the Playboy mansion, and Rock Band's foray into the Country music scene.
Last week, the dudes and I realized one glaring downfall to our show: all … Read more
Even though Jeff and Wilson are having an "off day," the show is still as ridiculous and irrelevant as always, replete with stories about stuffing monkeys up your shirt, dirty Nintendo Scrabble words, and the worst Top 10 gadgets list of all time. Oh, and be sure to listen until to the end to hear Wilson completely destroy the 4th wall.
Wilson and Jeff are in some kind of slump, so it's up to me (Yu) to cheer them up, and I think a combination of funny stories and a heartfelt air hug sesh gets the job … Read more
Thanks to Dan the Mantern's two-week-long extended vacation, we're left helpless and alone. Luckily for us, the Intern Formerly Known as Mark (IFKM is a bad acronym) saves the day, helping us scrutinize stories like Microsoft entering the T-shirt market, the Knight Rider show cancellation, the first Vietnamese House Representative, and other kooky, borderline-tabloid stories we found on the World Wide Den of Filth.
In today's episode of What's Happening With Those Asians, we discuss an important milestone in Asian American history: Louisiana has elected the United States' very first Vietnamese-American House Representative. It's an … Read more
