T-Mobile activated its nascent 3G network in another city Wednesday.

T-Mobile is promising that it will switch on its wireless broadband network in up to 20 more markets by the end of this year, but the carrier has not announced further details. We're hoping San Francisco gets service soon and that T-Mobile rolls out more 3G-capable phones.

T-Mobile 'Gekko' officially reveals itself as T-Mobile Sidekick

It's so hard to keep a good secret these days. Just ask T-Mobile. Word of its new Sidekick model, code-named Gekko, got out months ago and was all but confirmed about a week ago when the ruthless blogosphere got hold of some internal T-Mobile documents about the upcoming model.

Well, today, the wraps were officially taken off the new model. Simply called the T-Mobile Sidekick (more on this new, puzzling naming scheme below), it's the first Sidekick to debut since device manufacturer Danger was acquired by Microsoft.

Judge allows texting suit against T-Mobile to move forward

A class action lawsuit against T-Mobile received new life yesterday after a Seattle federal judge ruled that it could move forward. The suit, which comes as text messages fees are on the rise, alleges that T-Mobile is allowing subscribers few options to avoid spam text messages. Since customers are charged for all incoming texts, whether solicited or not, the suit argues that subscribers must either eat the costs or end their service contracts early, which could result in an early termination fee of up to $175.

While some other carriers let customers block text messages completely, T-Mobile does not offer … Read more
