The 404 149: Where you can call us now for your free reading

After one of our listeners calls us out on our truly awful Jamaican impression, we try, try, try again--unsuccessfully. It doesn't work out so well, and we slowly start to sound like a Jamaican extradited from Ireland. Anyway...today's episode finally reveals the secret pre-show juice that powers the enthusiasm we bring you everyday: crunk juice! And, by crunk juice we mean orange juice! All this segues into our first story, where we lay the smackdown on 50 Cent for getting a little trigger happy south of the border. Jeff decides to change 50's name to "… Read more

Kaminsky (finally) provides DNS flaw details

In his first public comments since his Domain Name System (DNS) cache poisoning flaw was made public, Dan Kaminsky said in a conference call on Thursday he doesn't want to parse who said what when. He just wants everyone to understand that they must patch their systems now.

Speaking during the second pre-Black Hat security conference Webinar, Kaminsky, who's director of penetration testing for IOActive, provided the most information to date about the DNS flaw he found earlier this year but only disclosed in public on July 8. DNS is what translates the common name of a Web … Read more

EFF YO CUBE

Mark is an associate producer on Loaded. He took a three week vacation during the busiest time of the year for our team. We had to redesign the set, film off site, move all office furniture for re-carpeting, and cover the 3G iPhone launch all without him. We haven't slept in weeks. This is a little friendly retribution!

The 404 142: Where we KILL the Batman

This is the show where we KILL the Batman. And by kill, we mean praise...maybe obsess. We scored a few free tickets to attend an exclusive Dark Knight IMAX screening and after getting stood up by three contest winners, we finally get in touch with Cesar Marty, who came to enjoy the movie with us. And man...did we enjoy it. So much so that we spend the first half of today's show gushing over its superiority over all other superhero flicks. Don't worry, we keep Wilson "The Spoiler" Tang on a short leash. The … Read more

The 404 140: Where you can win a non-date with Natali Del Conte!

Natali Del Conte scored an extra ticket to an exclusive IMAX screening of the Dark Knight tomorrow night, so we're holding a contest to see who gets it: just send a haiku about Natali and Loaded to the404@cnet.com or record it on a voice mail to 1-866-404-2638 and we'll choose a winner on tomorrow's show! Remember two things: it's a non-date (listen to today's show for more details) and entries must be received before tomorrow's show. Good luck! On today's show, we spout about our "appearance" on Fox News, … Read more

Jeff Bezos backs Social Gaming Network

Even though the iPhone has been dominating developer headlines recently, it looks as if there's still some air in the social-network gaming space.

The Social Gaming Network, a start-up that develops games for social platforms such as Facebook and OpenSocial, has received an undisclosed amount of funding from Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos' personal investment firm, Bezos Expeditions.

This comes just months after the company closed a $15 million Series A round from Greylock Partners, the Founders Fund, and others.

Founded by the creators of Web 1.0 page creator Freewebs (which now calls itself Webs.com), the Social … Read more

The 404 138: Where the show is now called The 202

Today's show starts off a bit rough. Wilson's still gone and our guests Rana Sobhany and Eric Litman are nowhere to be found, so it's the Jeff and Justin show for the first half. We do our normal thing and chat about old people getting it on until BAM! Rana and Eric arrive and all is well again. They give us the scoop on their newest business venture, Medialets, and we also discuss the YouTube versus Viacom lawsuit. Thanks for coming on the show, guys! Episode 138 Download today's podcast

The 404 134: Where the interns broke the studio

CNET interns Jeff and Jeremy give the Webcam a premature Fourth of July fireworks show and fuzzify the viewers, but we'll forgive them this time. In other news, we also take apart the Great Firewall of China, beg for Rush Limbaugh's scraps, voraciously consume watermelon with a vengeance, hack a few ATMs across the country, and question Wilson's stubborn refusal to see GOOD MOVIES.

Some advice for Bill Gates from a semi-retired, orgy-loving cokehead

At this time of alleged retirement, I wonder if Bill Gates has turned to anyone for advice.

Just in case, I have done so for him.

I have been strangely immersed in a book this week called "How To Get Rich."

It is written by a man, also allegedly retired(ish), who knows he is called the Bearded Dwarf by many others.

A man who openly admits, in his past, to having taken many girls simultaneously to far-off places for far-off behaviors, while enjoying some of Peru's more troubling exports.

His name is Felix Dennis.

I have … Read more
