E3: 'Wii Fit' gameplay video

Health-conscious gamers can finally put the Wiimote down and put away Wii Sports. Nintendo's upcoming Wii Fit uses the new Wii Balance Board controller to measure how you move as you stretch, dance, and dodge through 40 different fitness activities. Wii Sports is expected to hit stores early next year.

The 'Wii Party Station' is our kind of gaming

We've never been into games all that much, so we've felt a bit left out with all that's going on at E3 this week. Then we saw it--the Nyko "Wii Party Station" (cue the angels' choir).

This heavenly contraption may not save you from the killer zombies of Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, but it may well help dull the pain from their undead doings. The reason: It has four cupholders that will keep your beers cool, as well as a fan to do the same with your hands, according to Technabob. It's kind of … Read more

E3: 'Metroid Prime 3: Corruption' gameplay

Nintendo finally brings Metroid to the Wii with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Once again, gaming's favorite female bounty hunter Samus Aran must don her visor and arm blaster and save the galaxy. This time around, Samus gets a new suit of power armor with a hyper mode that could either help her or destroy her. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption ships August 27.

How E3 changes the video game industry each year

As someone who owns an NES, SNES, Genesis, 3D0, every version of the Gameboy, PSP, DS, PlayStation, Dreamcast, Saturn, Xbox, GameCube, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2 and 3, Xbox 360 and Wii (phew!), I was always a big fan of games and the news that used to come in May at E3. And while my love of video games has cooled over the past few years, the recent E3 coverage has me thinking: what will the next year of gaming actually bring?

Although it isn't nearly as big as it used to be, E3 is still the industry's premier … Read more

E3: 'Super Mario Galaxy' gameplay movie

Mario takes to the stars in Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii. Control gaming's favorite plumber with the Wiimote and nunchuck as you explore planetoids, asteroids, and various other celestial -oids to collect stars. The game's round worlds will incorporate some truly funky puzzles, with gravity playing a major part in their solutions. Super Mario Galaxy hits the Wii on November 12.

E3: 'Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles' trailer

You just can't keep an evil, zombie-spawning corporation down. Capcom continues the Resident Evil story with Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, a rail shooter for the Nintendo Wii that has you loping through creepy, cramped hallways and blowing the heads off of hideous, mutated monsters. The game supports the newly announced Wii Zapper, so you can actually aim a "gun" at these creatures instead of just the Wiimote. Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles ships later this year.

E3: 'Soul Calibur Legends' trailer

Use the Wiimote to swing Zeigfried's sword, Ivy's whip-sword, and Taki's ninja swords in Soul Calibur Legends, an action adventure heading to the Nintendo Wii. Instead of the tournament-fighting action we've come to expect from the Soul Calibur series, Soul Calibur Legends focuses more on quest-based brawling and exploring. Namco's hack-and-slash adventure hits the Wii this holiday season.

Take a stand with 'Wii Fit' and its new controller

Ever since Wii Sports got gamers off their couches and onto the floor in front of their couches, the Wii has been a big deal for health-conscious gamers. The Wiimote's motion-oriented controls keep players active as they swing, slash, and roll in different games. Now Nintendo is taking the next step in making the Wii fitness-friendly, and they're not even using the Wiimote to do it.

At a press conference today, Nintendo announced Wii Fit. Like its name implies, Wii Fit is a fitness game for the Nintendo Wii. Like Brain Age used the Nintendo DS to exercise … Read more

'Mario Kart' coming to the Wii with online play

It's not the most surprising announcement at E3, but it certainly is one of the most anticipated by Nintendo fans. Nintendo just announced Mario Kart Wii. Nintendo's seminal arcade racer is finally bringing its shell-slinging, kart-driving action to the Wii. While Nintendo has been pretty quiet about Mario Kart Wii, it's safe to say that the game will let you play as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, or any other number of Nintendo characters across a number of Mario-themed tracks. At Nintendo's press conference today, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime cryptically said, "More racers mean more … Read more

Wii Zapper announced; Wii 'Duck Hunt' not far behind?

Over a year ago, before the Wii was even released, we reported the possibility of a gun accessory for the Wiimote. Well, Nintendo finally announced one, and it's...not quite what we expected.

The Wii Zapper looks more like a Star Trek phaser rifle than the pistol we saw 14 months ago. The curvy, simplified white gun holds both the remote and nunchuck attachment in place, with the remote's B and nunchuck's Z buttons fixed like triggers on the device. It's clearly intended for two-hand use, with the front hand controlling the remote and the back … Read more
