FCC reveals TomTom's product road map

GPS maker TomTom has been pretty quiet as of late, but thanks to some FCC slips, it looks like we'll be seeing several new in-car GPS devices from the company soon. Eclipse bridges the gap between in-dash and portable navigation

Eclipse kicked off its CES 2007 press conference with the unveiling of the AVN2210p, an in-dash navigation and multimedia system that doubles as a handheld portable navigation device. The system comes in two parts, with a standalone portable navigation device, similar to the TomTom One, slotting into a double-DIN-sized audio unit installed in a car's dash.

Car stereo-maker Dual is on the trail of the likes of Magellan, TomTom, and Garmin with the release of its second portable GPS navigation system. The XNAV3550 uses Navigon navigation software, features a 3.5 inch TFT touch screen display, and is preloaded with maps of the United States, including nearly 2 million points of interest.
