CBS TV shows hit Amazon Instant Video

Amazon gets streaming deal for 2,000 CBS TV episodes

Now there's one more way to watch old episodes of "Star Trek." CBS has struck another nonexclusive content licensing deal for its TV backlist, this time with Amazon for its Amazon Prime streaming video service. (Disclosure: CBS is the parent company of CNET).

The agreement brings 2,000 TV show episodes to the service to bring the total number of Amazon Prime instant videos to more than 8,000 movies and TV shows, the companies said. That includes full seasons of 18 TV series, such as "The Tudors," "Numb3rs," "Medium," the "Star Trek" franchise, "Frasier," and "Cheers."

For those who don't subscribe to Amazon's Prime service, dozens of CBS shows will also become available to Amazon Instant Video customers this summer.

No dollar amounts were disclosed for the deal, but it's assumed to be similar to the terms CBS struck with Netflix, which analysts said is worth $200 million.

Rumor: Samsung Nexus Prime to be first Ice Cream Sandwich phone

Google and Samsung could be teaming up once again and this time for the first Android 4.0 handset. According to sources close to Boy Genius Report, this latest collaboration bears the code name of Prime and could ultimately arrive as the Nexus Prime when it debuts late in the year. The handset should significantly improve upon its predecessor Nexus devices on multiple fronts, including processor speed and display resolution.

Keeping with other Pure Google experience smartphones, the Nexus Prime is expected to be devoid of any carrier customization or preloaded applications. Rumors also have been swirling that the first … Read more

Optimus Prime: Hero, guardian, lousy car parker

Optimus Prime is maybe the most famous Transformer of all. Nearly every rendition and interpretation of the Autobots has him in charge. He's wise, loyal, heroic, and, apparently, a crappy car parker.

Indeed, the truck that occasionally portrays Optmius in Michael Bay's insane Transformers films is in NYC this week to promote the latest at Toy Fair 2011 (which we're all over), and a Twitter user with the awesome handle @terrordrome tweeted a photo of him outside (though the tweet is now missing). And later he noticed something: a parking ticket, as BoingBoing pointed out.
