The key leg of the Mozilla Web Apps platform is the Mozilla Marketplace. The major part of the statement was devoted to revealing that the Marketplace will throw open its doors to developers for the first time in Barcelona. The … Read more

HTC posts MWC 2012 teaser on Facebook

If you have news that you want to be vague about, Facebook is the perfect platform.

Everything from passive-aggressive statuses about your significant other, to pictures of your hair on the floor with the caption, "New look...?" can get thousands of "likes" for no reason. Ambiguous postings like these do get people's attention, but it's borderline laz--oh man, did you see what HTC just posted on its account?

The phone manufacturer posted the above picture with the caption, "This Sunday you'll discover something fast."

This Sunday, this Sunday...why, that's … Read more

Nokia's teasing us with a snowy video designed to get viewers all hot under the collar about a new camera phone.

The video gives nothing away, but shows eerie high-resolution panning shots of beautiful icy scenes, with references made to "pure detail," "pure depth," and "pure definition."

The 22-second clip ends with the text "Get ready to capture a pure view," with what looks like a massive frozen lake. Very picturesque, but what could it mean?

LG's Optimus 3D Max modernizes--except for Android 2.3

LG Electronics, a second-tier smartphone maker hoping Google's Android operating system will lift its fortunes, today unveiled its new Optimus 3D Max.

One thing that did not change is the version of Google's latest … Read more

Huawei's 10-inch MediaPad leaks ahead of MWC

The first images of a 10-inch Huawei MediaPad have surfaced days ahead of Mobile World Congress, where we expect Huawei to make the tablet part of its announcements.

Early details suggest an Android 4.0 experience, with an 8-megapixel camera, a microSD expansion slot, and 3G connectivity. There's no indication what the processor and memory situation may be; however, I'd expect at least a dual-core CPU and 16GB internal storage.

Judging by the company's recent Android efforts, I anticipate that Huawei will want to keep its foot on the gas to keep pace with other, bigger players. … Read more
