Apple released an update on Monday for iLife 8.0 and Aperture 2 running on Mac OS v10.4.9 through v10.4.11.

The update does not affect those running Mac OS X v10.5.5. The update affects system software components shared by all iLife '08 applications and, in most cases, the specific vulnerabilities could lead to application termination or arbitrary code execution. iLife Support 8.3.1 may be obtained from the Software Update pane in System Preferences or Apple's Software Downloads Web site.

MySpace Music has offered its vacant CEO position to Courtney Holt, MTV Networks' executive vice president of digital music and media, according to a music industry source with knowledge of the negotiations.

The source said that Holt, previously an executive at Interscope Records, may be close to agreeing to the deal but that there are several sticking points.

The News Corp.-owned MySpace launched its music service last month, featuring streaming-music deals from all four major record labels and a retail affiliate partnership with the Amazon MP3 store.

Microsoft on Tuesday released its October 2008 security bulletin. The four critical bulletins concern Windows, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Host Integration Server, and Microsoft Excel. The patch for Internet Explorer is cumulative.

Update: Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has confirmed Moskovitz's departure from the company, saying "Dustin has always had Facebook's best interests at heart and will always be someone I turn to for advice."

Dustin Moskowitz, one of Mark Zuckerberg's co-founders at Facebook and one of the young CEO's longtime confidants, has left the company according to Valleywag. He's leaving to found an undisclosed new company with Justin Rosenstein, another departing Facebook engineer, the blog said.
