Here's what I'd like to see.
I have to admit that I no longer play scary games before heading to bed. It's unfair to my wife, who has to put up with the shrieking nightmares they provoke in me, and also live with the knowledge that her husband's a total wimp.
It was a tough habit to break. If you get a thrill from thinking about things that go bump in the night, there are few experiences that tap that better than turning out the lights and decapitating zombies from the comfort of your couch.
So, for those of you with the freedom to … Read more
Microsoft's making a limited-time program that gives paid Xbox Live subscribers free games an ongoing fixture of its online service.
The company announced the news in a blog post on Friday, adding that its users have spent more than 120 million hours playing the games it's given out as freebies.
The "Games with Gold" program was launched at E3 earlier this year, and was set to run through the end of December. Its introduction was seen as a response to Sony's paid PlayStation Plus program, which also gives users free downloads of certain titles that … Read more
Game spending in the US was up considerably in September, thanks to the wildly popular Grand Theft Auto V.
Total game spending in the physical channel, which includes game discs, hardware, and accessories, hit $1.08 billion in the United States last month, research firm NPD reported Thursday. The spending was up 27 percent compared to September 2012, when consumers laid out $848 million in the US.
Bad Lip Reading is one of the best channels on YouTube. For real. If the name didn't give it away, it takes existing footage and then posits what the people in that footage could be saying just by reading their lips.
After five months of nothing from the channel, it's just dropped it's newest bomb: "Medieval Land Fun-Time World." It tells the deeply dramatic tale of theme-park owner Eddie Stark, whose employees aren't performing up to scratch. … Read more
Having all these small and expensive parts sitting in front of you may look like a daunting task, but in reality the setup process, while long, is relatively simple. Having tools like a box cutter, scissors, zip ties, and a screwdriver by your side will only make the process that much quicker.
The most important task, and I cannot stress this enough, is to ground yourself. This can be done by touching … Read more

StorageThe operating system and all your files are stored on your computer's internal storage. There are two different kinds of storage options available: hard disk or solid-state. The … Read more
We may be entering into a post-PC world, but that doesn't mean the desktop computer is dead. Smartphones and tablets can be great for basic gaming, checking your email, and keeping in touch with friends and family, however you can still get more functionality out of a traditional PC.
Despite the push towards touch screens in recent years, nothing beats having a mouse and keyboard. Typing is quicker, navigating the interface is seamless, and the user experience is far more enjoyable, at least in my opinion.
Laptops are in a weird transitional phase, with companies now beginning to push … Read more
People who know me know I love a good game bundle, especially when it benefits charity. Everybody wins.
The Humble Bundle folks have put together one of the better collections I've seen, with a focus on Android but plenty of goodness for desktop users as well.
It's the Humble Bundle with Android 7, and it comes with six seriously good games -- not just the Android versions, but also their Windows, Mac, and Linux counterparts.
It works like this: You decide what price you want to pay for the bundle. It can be anything over $1 (the minimum … Read more
