I never heard of Lepai until about a year ago, when Parts Express sent over a Lepai LP-2020A+ amplifier for review. Well, it didn't take long to see it was a steal, and it has been my go-to amp for anyone on a super-tight budget, it's just $25, and for that kind of money the sound is pretty special. The 20-watt-per-channel stereo amplifier is a tiny thing, it's just 1.5x5.5x4.5 inches.
Even when compared to other sub-$200 tablets in its weight class, the Lenovo IdeaTab A1000 comes up short in features, performance, and screen quality. While the microSD storage expansion is welcome here, it's not reason enough to buy the tablet. There are plenty of other microSD-toting budget tablets with higher quality screens and more useful features.
Speaking of features, the tablet’s inclusion of Dolby Digital audio enhancement is its one possible saving grace. It's geared toward audiophiles, but due to its headphones-only functionality and a lack of user-friendly integration, it's not as easily accessible as … Read more

After much back and forth, it is now rumored that Apple's forthcoming A7 processor will have at least some Samsung components.
A developer told 9to5Mac that he found references to a new A7 chip within the code of the iOS 7 file system. Another person familiar with Apple's chip design process told 9to5Mac that an analysis of this iOS 7 code revealed that some Samsung components will be used on the supposed chip -- most likely those that power the display.
This wouldn't be the first time that Apple has used Samsung components for its processing chips. … Read more
AHomeIcon allows you to customize the icons on your phone's home screen, using a series of clever tricks to redirect button presses through your browser. The result is a level of customization that few users have, but with a number of setup steps to sort through and a handful of confusing issues that can slow the process down, slightly.
The home screen for AHomeIcon is filled with common tools on your phone, a new icon creator and a create button. The app does not guide you in any of this, so you'll need to navigate through the setting … Read more
There's no sense denying vinyl's imperfections. First there are the noise issues -- pops, clicks, and rumble -- and they all get a little worse every time you play an LP. Then there are problems with speed stability, off-center pressings, warped records, less than accurate vinyl and phono cartridge frequency response curves, poor stereo separation, and limited dynamic range. That was all true back in 1983, and digital has only improved since then. So why are vinyl sales up year after year since the early 2000s?
Most formats wither and die soon after the replacement format takes over … Read more
South Korea is ramping up support for LTE-Advanced devices.LG Uplus, South Korea's smallest mobile provider, has unveiled its own LTE-A network offering around twice the speed possible through regular LTE, Yonhap reported on Thursday. Both companies explained that the faster speed of LTE-A is achieved through carrier aggregation, which bundles two frequency bands … Read more
Though still cloaked in mystery, BlackBerry's next anticipated flagship phone, the all-touchscreen A10, has seemingly surfaced for the first time in video form in a YouTube clip from smartphone accessory maker Vivix.
The short video shows what appears to be an unreleased BlackBerry device matching the description of the rumored A10 "Aristo," which is said to have a 5-inch touchscreen, an 8MP camera, and a quad-core GPU optimized for gaming. The device also seems to resemble the one pictured in a photo that BGR dug up last week.
CNET previously reported that Sprint Nextel would sell the … Read more
