Last week we told you that T-Mobile launched the Sony Ericsson TM506. Over the past couple days we've had the opportunity to put it through its paces, and on the whole we like what we see. Two firsts for T-Mobile's Sony Ericsson 3G phone

T-Mobile launched a new cell phone on Thursday that marks two firsts for the carrier. The Sony Ericsson TM506 is not only the carrier's first Sony Ericsson phone in a couple of years, but also its first new 3G handset since it launched its wireless broadband network last May. The TM506 sports a slim flip phone design in an amber hue.

Timex's MP3 clock radio chimes in

SDI Technologies, the company that brings you the iHome line of iPod speaker systems and clock radios, also has a licensing deal with Timex to create forward-thinking clock radios. The Timex TM 80BR, a clock radio that plays MP3 and WMA files from thumbdrives and SD memory cards, is one such model, and it's apparently going to be available very soon.
