The iPhone app that lets you see your friends naked

People need many things right now, but surely nothing more than the ability to spontaneously see through the clothing of another.

You know this is true. So do the other-oriented folks at Presselite. For they want you to share their pride in an application creation called Nude It, which was approved by the Apple store Komsomol Tuesday.

Antoine Morcos, co-founder of Presselite, admitted in a press release that the creators' inspiration in the development of this astounding technology came from the WhoIsTheBaldGuyBlog. I have embedded a YouTube video in order to give you some relief from feeling that you inhabit … Read more

Teen 'sexting': Stupid and illegal

"Sexting" is the practice of taking a sexually revealing picture of yourself, typically from a cell phone, and sending it to someone. Legal consequences aside, it's a dumb thing to do, especially for younger age groups in which it has become something of a fad.

Even if you are comfortable with the person receiving the image, you never know for sure where else it might land. Digital images are easy to copy and forward, and even if you trust your friend's discretion, it can be accidentally forwarded or seen by others with access to your friend'… Read more

The 404 305: Where Natali does not appear on 'Howard Stern'

Natali Del Conte joins the show today to talk about how she won't be making an appearance on the Howard Stern's show, though he is looking for a brand-new 3G, touch screen phone with a keyboard. Jeff and Wilson told her that she needs to wear a muumuu and a turtleneck if she ever goes on the show. Best of all, it's Jeff's birthday! He's legal, girls!

On today's show, we talk about how the homeless in this country actually carry around cell phones. How else are you going to be able to reach them? Corner of 4th and Ave A isn't really good contact info. Along those same lines, the recession apparently is causing "nakations" to become a big thing. That's right; it's a naked vacation. Natali points out that most people that go to nude beaches aren't exactly the fittest. That, and her skin should never get exposed to direct sunlight.

Twitter ends Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer's relationship. Find out from Natali why this is empowering women. And another form of empowerment is drawing a 60-foot penis on your parent's rooftop. Yes, an ingenious boy in the U.K. drew the large "willy" in half an hour. For six months, no one noticed--except for Google Earth and passing helicopters. In response to this story and on his birthday, Jeff invents a new word that we're not allowed to write here at CNET. Needless to say, it's priceless. Listen in and send us your comments at the404 [at] cnet [dot] com. Or leave us a message at 1-866-404-CNET (2638).

Battle of the iPhone Touch cases

The Xylo "Touch Thru" hard-shell iPhone case we wrote of earlier this week boasted that it was "the first of its kind," but we're always dubious of such claims in the hype-driven gadget universe. Sure enough, just a few days later Uncrate is featuring a similar product from Case-Mate called the "Naked Case" that goes for the same price.

Other than bearing a far more provocative name, this acrylic case appears to do the same things its rival promises--allowing touch-screen access through a clear protective cover. (Case-Mate credits its "electrostatic membrane" … Read more

The 'original' online alarm clock

We got a ping earlier today from Tom Churm, the creator of Germany-based Online Alarm Clock, who wanted to let us know about his Web based alarm clock that's quietly been humming along since early 2006. The service's claim to fame is its two-click alarm selector, which lets anyone set a wake-up call or alert without too much complication (note: while Churm says it's two, you still have to select each hour and minute you want with a second button press, so it's actually four clicks). Users have to trudge to their machine to turn off … Read more

You, there. Step back from the Webcam

Corey Delaney, you're making us all look bad.

Last week, the Web became all too well acquainted with this Australian teenager and the sunglasses he refused to remove. On a Melbourne-area newscast, an anchor interviewed Delaney, 16, about the bacchanalia he'd hosted at his parents' house while they were out of town--and the $20,000 fine the police served to him. He responded with the most obnoxious flavor of awkwardness imaginable. Within due time it was all over the likes of YouTube, leaving the viral-video hordes to wonder if it was real. (It was.)

What happened? YouTube fame, … Read more

Webware's official alarm clock

Here's another PC-based alarm clock: Naked Alarm Clock. It's just a little Flash-based clock with ringers. Things I like about it: It's easy to program. It has loud alarms, and you can turn them off by mashing the space bar. Second, although it's Web-based, it's a self-contained Flash application, so it will ring even if your Internet connection dies in the middle of the night. It's missing a snooze alarm, though.

I might actually use this as an alarm clock next time I'm in a hotel. Yeah, I could use my mobile phone, … Read more

Get naked on a glacier

How many naked people can you fit on a shrinking glacier? According to a report by Reuters, New York photographer Spencer Tunick plans to find out next month when he teams up with Greenpeace to shoot another in his long series of nude photos of large groups of people. Tunick will hold his shoot on a Swiss glacier the weekend of August 18 and is seeking volunteers for the Greenpeace shoot. The Reuters report says that volunteers can register at www.greenpeace.ch/tunickglacier, but when I checked it, that was a dead link. If you want to offer up … Read more
