Toy hydrogen cars look better than real thing

Toy cars that run on alternative energies are sometimes as impressive as their grown-up counterparts. Yet they often look like, well, toys (or even worse). But Corgi, in a partnership with Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies, has come up with a futuristic design that could easily be sitting on a full-size show floor. The "H2GO" is a remote-controlled miniature car powered by a hydrogen fuel cell that runs on water and solar energy, made of "lightweight, environmentally friendly, wheat-based plastics and boasts fully recyclable packaging," according to Pocket-lint. It even comes with its own refueling station. The … Read more

The Zoom H2: A heck of a stereo/four-channel recorder

When a friend turned me onto Zoom's H2 stereo/four channel digital recorder ($200), my first impression was that it looked like a man's electric shaver. It's not just for musicians, students can record seminars and conferences. I think it'll come in handy when I'm doing interviews.

The H2's selectable recording quality runs from 64-320 Kbps MP3 up to much better than CD quality, 24 bit/96 KHz linear PCM (WAV files). Four-channel, 360-degree surround recordings can be made in 24 bit/48 kHz format with the H2's two sets of built-in microphones--or … Read more

Fire up the chimney in your Hummer

A lot of people seemed to like to idea of a remote-controlled H2 terrorizing their homes, so we got to thinking: These folks need a real one to go with it. But given their obviously discriminating tastes, it couldn't be just any old Hummer.

That's why this custom creation is the perfect mate: Not only does it have all the appointments of a fully loaded model, but it also has--get this--a fireplace and chimney, including a built-in flat-panel display to go with the oh-so-klassy white shag rug. Gizmag says this beauty was made for a German TV show … Read more

Mow down other toys with RC Hummer

Forget those wimpy remote-controlled pests that seem to be proliferating by the minute. You really want something annoying? Get an RC Hummer H2 replica that's a full 2.5 feet long. That's easily big enough to knock over your idiot uncle before Christmas dinner has even begun. Making this beast even more irritating are flashing lights and spinning rims, so it might be tough to sneak up on guests. But at cruising speeds up to 20 mph, you won't need too much stealth to catch them.
