MP3 watches near disposable prices

With so many companies now making MP3 watches--diverse brands ranging from Hyundai to Skullcandy--it was inevitable that some manufacturers would break out for the low end of the market, just as they are with handheld players. And no one will be shocked to find that companies from China are among them.

Chinavasion, which has already been making video watches for as low as $56, has come out with a new MP3 wristwatch with 1GB of built-in memory for $27 (even less in bulk purchases) in a variety of colors, as seen on 7Gadgets. But even at these prices, we'… Read more

MP3 cross for the true believer

Ever since we first saw the "iBelieve" concept two years ago, we've wondered when and if religious icons would find mass (lowercase) appeal in the tech marketplace. Other than the "Saint USB" and other occasional items, the product that seemed to have the most potential was the musical cross--but we never would have guessed that a Chinese wholesaler would take the idea and run with it full-bore.

Video watch gets a 'big' screen

The makers of a video wristwatch we cited awhile back are apparently benevolent types who don't want us to go blind squinting at a 1.5-inch screen. So Chinavasion has come out with a new model that ups the size of its color LCD to a whopping 1.8 inches.

As Technabob notes, it's impossible to call this a widescreen display with a straight face, but it does claim a full 16:9 ratio for MP4 viewing, as well as MP3 playback and an FM radio. (Whether it actually tells time is unclear.)

We're not sure how … Read more
