The InCharge Auto BT is a simple device, both in form factor and function. Essentially, it features a 12-volt power connection on one end of a 4-foot cable and a male analog auxiliary audio connection on the other. You may be asking, "If one end of the cable connects to power and the other end connects to the car, where does my phone connect?" The answer is: wirelessly. That "BT" at the end of InCharge Auto BT doesn't stand for Brian Tong. It's short for Bluetooth and this unit uses Bluetooth HFP and A2DP/AVRCP to wirelessly receive audio from your handset to be output to your car's speakers via the aforementioned auxiliary audio connection. … Read more

Phone and broadband giant BT (previously known as British Telecom) announced yesterday that it's on track to save at least 13 million pounds (about $20.6 million) in annual energy bills after switching to smart meters and energy management systems in its office buildings, data centers, and telephone exchanges.
The switch has reduced BT's carbon footprint by 5 percent, or the equivalent of powering 23,000 homes annually, the company said.
Of course, the initial layout was … Read more

While JBL is certainly eyeing iPad owners as its target audience, the unit works just fine with Android tablets and smartphones, as well as any … Read more

Sony officially launched three new portable media players today: the NWZ-A860, NWZ-S760BT, and NWZ-E460 series.
The Walkman made for audiophiles features a 2.8-inch LCD touch screen (not OLED as previously reported). As we said before, A series will have Bluetooth to stream audio to other devices. Sony's press release confirmed the mysterious file transfer capability--now officially known as "Photo Transfer"-- allowing users to share photos via Bluetooth between compatible devices.
Battery life is said to clock in at 25 hours for music, and 5 hours for video playback.
FM radio and built-in voice recording in the A series are a nice touch. Sony also included an S-Master MX digital amplifier, promising to "reduce noise level and distortion." Two capacities will be available in the U.S.: an 8GB model for $179 and a 16GB version for $219. Sadly, we're not seeing any mentions of the 32GB or 64GB versions, which are most likely destined for other regions. … Read more

If you're looking for something like this for your car, fear not, there's also the … Read more

Back at CES 2010, we got a look at the Sony DSX-S100, a car stereo that distinguished itself with a feature called the Tune Tray--a sort of tiny, built-in glove compartment for stashing your portable media player of choice. Sony announced Thursday that it's adding two more Tune Tray models to its Xplod line of car stereos: the DSX-S200X and the DSX-S300BT.
The DSX-S200X inherits all the features of the DSX-S100, including a monochromatic OLED display, the all-important Tune Tray with its internal USB connection, and the omission of a CD player. The S200X then adds a second USB … Read more
