Archos attempts to strengthen its Element series of tablets by announcing the 97 Titanium HD. The 9.7-inch tablet will ship with Android 4.1 and a promising 2,048x1,536-pixel IPS display. This matches the resolution of the current-generation iPad.

The tablet houses a 1.6GHz dual-core A9 processor, a quad-core Mali 400 MP4 GPU, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. Other features include a microSD expansion slot, Micro-USB port, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Today, Archos revealed its GamePad, a gaming tablet with a 7-inch touch screen.

Not only will the Wi-Fi only device function as a regular tablet, which includes having access to Google Play and its accompanying games, e-mail, the Web, and apps, but it will also have physical control buttons for gaming.

The GamePad will be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and a Mali 400 MP quad-core GPU.

Thanks mostly to Asus, keyboards and tablets are kind of a thing. It started with the first Transformer, continued with the Slider, and Asus hasn't really looked back since then. And why should it? The Transformer line has been very good to the company, even if the actual keyboard costs up to $150 extra (in addition to the tablet). The Slider isn't as popular, and its prices start at nearly $500.

Archos has officially announced their latest venture into the Android tablet market with the Gen10 XS series. The line consists of three tablets starting with the Archos 101XS. The 10.1-inch tablet is set to be released in North America in November with a $399.99 price tag.

Almost five months after posting a teaser video on Youtube for its G10 xs tablet, Archos is ready to launch its latest stab at the Android tablet market. A teaser image highlighting the tablet's thinness was posted on Archos Worldwide's Facebook page with a caption saying to look for the launch announcement in three weeks.

The G10 xs is rumored to run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and have microSD and Mini-HDMI connections. The tablet, which could be the thinnest tablet yet with a 7.6mm thickness, could rival the Asus Transformer Infinity with its similar keyboard dock accessory. The G10 xs appears to be aimed at the higher-end tablet market with its eye-catching design and already looks like an upgrade from Archos' most recent effort, the 101 G9 Turbo tablet.

Sony pulled off a surprise yesterday when it added the Android 4.0-powered F800 and E470 to its popular and long-running Walkman series of personal media players.

It isn't Sony's first Walkman to run Android (in January the company unveiled the Z series) nor is Sony the first company to use Android for media players. Samsung and Archos, for example, have used the OS, with the Galaxy Player 4.2 being Sammy's most recent example.

First in line for a July release is the Archos 97 Carbon. Though it runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and sports a 9.7-inch IPS display, the tablet's feature set is decidedly middle of the road.
