Apple published an updated chart on its developer Web site for the iOS App Store, which shows that iOS 7 is now on 74 percent of all iOS devices. This means adoption of the operating system has grown 10 percent since numbers last reported in October.
While Apple has continued to crush the US smartphone market, Samsung and Motorola also have seen some gains.
New data from ComScore analyzing the smartphone market in August through October shows that Apple nabbed 40.6 percent of the market share, up 0.2 percent from July. However, Samsung and Motorola also saw market share boosts. Samsung's share went up 1.3 percent to 25.4 percent, and Motorola nailed the third spot by rising 0.1 percent to 7 percent share.
Dragging behind were HTC and LG, respectively. Both of these phone makers lost market share during the … Read more

Apple's Siri possesses many skills, but subtraction doesn't seem to be one of them.
Asking Siri "What's 3.23 minus 1.27?" resulted in an odd answer. Instead of responding with the correct value, Apple's voice assistant told me the current date. I tried again and got the same response. Delving further, I asked Siri to subtract a variety of other numbers with decimal points, such as "4.23 minus 1.27," "8.12 minus 3.23," "6.43 minus 2.41," and "5.25 minus 4.… Read more

Key to the new dock would be integration with Siri. Rather than including Apple's voice assistant, the dock would tap into Siri on your mobile device. You'd activate Siri simply by speaking or … Read more
Apple could add as many as 17 million iPhones to its 2014 sales tally in a reported deal with China Mobile, said Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster
The two companies have signed an agreement, the Wall Street Journal said on Wednesday, citing a "person familiar with the situation." The source told the Journal that -- after months of speculation and anticipation -- the iPhone is expected to roll out through China Mobile on December 18 to the carrier's 760 million subscribers.
If the December date is accurate, the 17 million in sales predicted by Munster would raise … Read more
Intel was set to revolutionize television.
In fact, Erik Huggers, the head of Intel Media, said in February that this would be the year Intel shakes things up. After all, he had a small army of 300 at work and more than 2,000 Intel employees testing OnCue, a new box and service that would allow users to watch live TV, on-demand video, and other Internet-based offerings like video apps in one package.
Apple has reached a long-awaited deal with China Mobile to offer the iPhone on the world's largest wireless carrier, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The rollout of the iPhone on China Mobile, which has nearly 760 million customers, is expected around December 18, sources told the newspaper. While the iPhone is currently offered by China Unicom and China Telecom, Apple has been courting China Mobile for years, seeking the vast number of new customers such a deal would create.
CNET has contacted Apple for comment and will update this report when we learn more.
