All-in-one (AIO) printers touting three to four features such as copying, scanning, and faxing are aplenty. But when we received news of a 9-in-1 model, it nearly blew us away.

Kodak looks to the future
CES is all about what's cool right now, up to the latest nanosecond. One of the Sandbox Summit panelists summed up the pace of development when she said that her wired kids thought that the Amazon Kindle was old news.
I have to say that one of the CES displays that impressed me the most was from a classic American company that had to be one of the oldest manufacturers at the show: Kodak. Think about the transition they've had to pull off, from film to digital photography, upending their previous innovations and business. A few years ago the outlook for the company's future was incredibly pessimistic.
Kodak had a massive booth at CES and after all was said and done, I realized that they had presented some of the best home-office photo printers, digital photo frames, and scrapbooking software that I'd seen at the show. (Keep in mind that seeing everything at CES is like trying to eat at every restaurant in Manhattan in two days; no one person can possibly scour more than a fraction of the total offerings.) Hewlett-Packard demonstrated a wide variety of equipment that would definitely do a good job, but Kodak seemed to have developed the whole package deal, understanding their target audience as photographers and memory makers rather than just people who print photos.… Read more
Canon launches a barrage of new printers

A boatload of printers from Lexmark
...Or at least, multiple armloads of printers. Lexmark announced six new printers today, both wired and wireless, but all inkjet. Lexmark has been at the forefront of offering wireless capability built-in, even on its low-cost, consumer oriented single-function printers like the Z1420. This new batch of printers includes four that offer wireless networking:
- X6570 Wireless All-in-One ($150): this unit prints, scans, copies, and faxes. It also offers memory card slots, a PictBridge enabled USB port, an automatic document feeder, an auto duplexer, and optional six-color printing. It lacks a graphical LCD however, offering just a text LCD.

HP announces new Deskjet and Photosmart printers
Today, HP unveiled five new printers: three Deskjets and one Photosmart.
- The HP Photosmart C4280 is a three-function unit (print, scan, copy) that prints black at 30ppm and color at 23ppm. It offers a 1.5-inch color LCD, memory card slots, borderless 4x6 photo prints, and optional six-color printing. The $100 printer will be available in May.
- The Deskjet D2460 is a $50 single-function inkjet printer that's available now. It offers 20ppm black and 14ppm color printing and optional six-color photo printing.
