Some of the most noticeable changes for the devices come in their design. The Note 3 sports a slightly larger screen than its predecessor, and both devices feature a svelte, new leather-effect rear casing edged with stitching. While still made of plastic, the new design gives the devices a more premium appearance. Samsung's products have faced criticism in the past for looking too "plasticy" when compared … Read more
BlackBerry users seem to be struggling with missing messages in the wake of the latest OS update.
Following installation of a new maintenance release for BB OS 10.1, many users say their text messages have vanished, blog site N4BB reported on Wednesday. Others say the messages appear but the message thread shows no history, while some say that text messaging no longer works at all.
Several tweets uncovered by The Next Web reveal the problem among BlackBerry smartphone owners.
"A small number of customers have reported an issue with their SMS message history after updating to BlackBerry 10.… Read more
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 stylishly embraces a more simple aesthetic compared with its predecessor. For a 10-inch tablet, it manages to be a rather compact device; it's lightweight and sleek, with thin bezels and a clean, cohesive design that would make any iPad melt with flattery.
Unfortunately, Samsung continues its trend of lackluster updates to its 10-inch Galaxy Tab line. While I appreciate the Tab 3 10.1's stylish turn, its specs are only a modest upgrade from the Tab 2 10.1, resulting in noticeably lackluster performance. In fact, "change" -- instead … Read more

BlackBerry Z10 owners on AT&T still can't get the latest update to the BlackBerry operating system.
Earlier on Friday, the BlackBerry OS 10.1 update for the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone was rolled out via AT&T. But that update was actually posted in error, a BlackBerry spokesperson told CNET.
BlackBerry now advises Z10 users who receive a software update notification to disregard it. The company said it's working closely with AT&T to deploy the official update soon.
This means that AT&T and BlackBerry are still behind in launching BB OS 10.… Read more
Samsung may do something it has never done: Put an Intel chip in a Galaxy Tab.
The Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Android tablet is expected to sport a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom CloverTrail+ chip, industry sources familiar with the product told CNET. The plus sign means the CloverTrial chip packs a high-performance PowerVR SGX544 MP2 graphic processing unit from Imagination Technologies.
Other specs include Android 4.2.2 and a 1,280 x 800 display.
Samsung is slated to reveal the Galaxy Tab at Computex, which starts June 4 in Taipei.

Counting apps like Count 10 x 10 are theoretically very useful. The learning concepts and the theme behind this particular app are well chosen, but the execution of its interface and the lack of features beyond the core concept are enough to make it a tough recommendation.
The idea behind Count 10 x 10 is very basic. Bananas appear on a 10 x 10 grid. You must enter the number of bananas on the screen and tap the "check" button to proceed. Children can also tap the bananas and they will become highlighted, helping little ones to count … Read more
Those users tracking the size of large numbers of word processing files may find counting software included in office suites inadequate. Word Counter for Mac works well and has some useful features for working with hundreds of files, but average users will likely find it of little use.
Word Counter for Mac downloads and installs quickly. After startup, the program had no user instruction, although the menu labels explained the functions well enough. No technical support is available, although the program performed well overall with no bugs. The menu is small and easy to use, allowing the user to cut … Read more
Say hello to the BlackBerry Q10, which offers a larger and more spacious QWERTY keyboard and a fresh infusion of the BlackBerry 10.1 operating system. It builds on the greatness of past BlackBerry messaging machines, yet blends this with modern smartphone software powerful enough to run multiple apps at once without skipping a beat. It also surfs Web sites like a champ and has a battery that goes the distance. Of course, the BlackBerry ecosystem lacks a wide app selection, but the Q10's hybrid approach should satisfy traditional BlackBerry addicts who crave a practical upgrade.
The Q10 is … Read more
