This story initially misstated that Ballmer had closed down a restaurant for his profile interview with Businessweek's reporter. The restaurant was open and the interview took place in a private area of the restaurant.

Google's Schmidt: Android leads the iPhone

This article was corrected to expand a quote from Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt on app development. Here is the expanded quote: "Ultimately, application vendors are driven by volume, and volume is favored by the open approach Google is taking. There are so many manufacturers working so hard to distribute Android phones globally that whether you like ICS or not--and again I like it a great deal--you will want to develop for that platform, and perhaps even first."
