3Com and Unisys today announced a consulting alliance to jointly sell new services to help build and manage corporate networks.

Under the deal, networking company 3Com said its consulting arm will work with computer services firm Unisys on joint networking projects.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

By combining networking expertise with consulting services, both companies said they will help clients improve network performance, security and service levels.

Under the deal, customers will have the option to outsource some or all of their network management needs to 3Com and Unisys. Networks will be hosted in Unisys data centers with support provided by 3Com consultants. Unisys said its centers offer a full suite of remote network management services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The companies said their partnership will also offer clients consulting services to meet voice, data and video integration needs, as well as e-business management.
