This wallet is a low-tech gadget for the slightly paranoid. Adam Laurie, a security researcher based in the U.K., carried it with him to ShmooCon. The wallet is lined with tinfoil. While that makes the billfold somewhat crispy, it also prevents any data leakage from radio-frequency identification, or RFID, tags--increasingly common in credit cards or ID badges. Researchers, including Laurie, have demonstrated that an attacker can read such tags when in close proximity. This could let somebody clone a tag or identify a person.
