Chris DiBona, Google's open-source program manager, is one of several tech execs who spoke at LinuxWorld, which took place from Aug. 8 to 11, 2005. "We do odd things to the Linux kernel to have it perform the way we want it to," he said. "With other operating systems, it's not as easy and we have to ask permission. We don't like that."
