IBM on Monday showed off a prototype of Innov8, a 3D game to teach business and IT people through simulation how to improve corporate business processes. The goal of the game, played with a joystick to navigate through a virtual office, is to complete a number of tasks related to business processes and report back to company executives.
Process improvement is a critical part of service-oriented architectures (SOA), a way of designing software as a series of interlinked, modular business services. The software for modeling and running this modular software is called business process management, or BPM.
