It's almost time

Apple sent out invites earlier today with the message "It's almost time." Not so cryptically, the invite sports a shadowed "5" underneath the date, suggesting it will be the iPhone 5. Interestingly enough, even if it's called the iPhone 5, it would actually be the sixth-generation Apple iPhone. Looking back we have the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S.

Apple's event kicks off next Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pacific. CNET will be there live to bring you the news. Stay tuned for details on that.
