How do you prevent flooding from excessive run-off? You get pavement that can absorb water. This system from Pavers by Ideal is simple--you place gravel in between pavers and have a water storage system of larger rockers beneath the pavement. It prevents run-off and keeps water in your property, lowering the cost from watering. The University of New Hampshire has come up with another system: porous concrete and asphalt (click here for PDF), which it says is a good way to deal with stormwater drainage problems.
