Last month, Google's 20 or so Washington employees moved a few blocks, to a 27,000-square-foot space that occupies one floor of a glassy building at 1101 New York Ave. (entrance shown here) in the heart of downtown, not far from K Street and its abundant lobby shops.
Completed last year, the structure has been certified as environmentally friendly by the U.S. Green Building Council. (Think waterless urinals, a roof that retains rainwater, and a high-efficiency heating-cooling system.) Other tenants include law firms and a branch of the global accounting firm Ernst & Young.
