Photos: The making of an ethanol 'superbug'

Mascoma's senior vice president of research and development, James Flett, points to an example of a microorganism that is attracted to cellulose. Certain bacteria in nature already have that trait. Mascoma scientists are testing which bacteria and yeasts are best at processing cellulose, as well as producing ethanol.
