The environment isn't the only beneficiary of the LED lights on the Union Square tree. Macy's made UCSF Children's Hospital the beneficiary of its annual tree lighting. For $10, people could sponsor a light bulb to illuminate the tree, with all proceeds going directly to the hospital.
