The utilities-funded 80 Plus mark, noting 80 percent energy efficiency, can be seen on product packaging. It applies to power supplies for desktop computers. Approved power supplies for PCs and servers (see directory) typically lose less energy as heat than do traditional power supplies and may draw 13 percent less current. Energy Star standards since mid-2007 also incorporate 80 Plus criteria.
