This office lamp is stylish but is also a showcase for sustainable design. Called the Leaf Lamp from Herman Miller, the lamp is made out of recyclable aluminum and uses LED bulbs, which reduce energy consumption by about 40 percent, compared with fluorescent bulbs.
Some sustainable design products follow a certification process called Cradle to Cradle, which provides guidelines for products' materials and efficient use of energy and other resources during production.
