Tesla car

Like the IT industry, Silicon Valley is the center of green-tech investment and start-up activity.

One of the most high-profile companies to be formed in the last few years in the Valley is Tesla Motors, which is making an all-electric sports car. The company plans to start limited production of its speedy, battery-powered cars early next year.
