Photos: Green tech from coast to coast

Massachusetts and the entire New England area are vying to become a clean-energy "cluster." The biggest venture-led investment in an energy start-up was GreatPoint Energy, which has developed a gasification process to convert coal and other forms of biomass into cleaner-burning natural gas. Its first commercial plant is scheduled to go up next year in Massachusetts (An artist's rendering of the plant is pictured here).
