On paper at least, PolyTurf has a lot going for it. It starts out with a nearly worthless product (recycled tires) turns it into an easy-to-maintain version of something nearly every homeowner has or wants (a nice lawn) and lets them cut down on a dwindling resource (water), particularly in the fast-growing sunbelt.

The company even offers different types of lawn, ranging from Royal XL No Fill to Active Play to Golf Green. It can even be made with an antibacterial layer.
