Charles T. Steinmetz's Detroit Electric car

As part of GE's symposium on batteries, it had one of the country's first electric cars on display, proving that electric cars are nothing new. This Detroit Electric car was made in 1914 and owned by Charles T. Steinmetz, a scientist who founded GE's industrial labs in Niskayuna. Steinmetz was one of the early pioneers of electrical engineering, making significant contributions to understanding alternating current.
