The first stop of the Hydrogen Road Tour took place at the U.S. headquarters of Nuvera Fuel Cells. The ribbon was cut by executives from Nuvera (middle two), someone from Congresswoman Niki Tsongas' office (right), and Cheryl McQueary, the deputy administrator of transportation research and innovative technology at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Along the 31-stop tour, politicians are scheduled to speak on the importance of investing in fuel-cell technology research. Fuel-cell cars emit water vapor as exhaust, and hydrogen fuel can be made from different sources, potentially lessening dependence on imported oil.
