Photos: Ecomodders make fuel good to the last drop

Ecomodders describe the Aptera prototype, illustrated here, as destined to be an icon of great aerodynamics. The three-wheeled Aptera holds two people and is set to go into production late this year. Aptera says the car will cost $26,900 for the electric version and $29,900 for the plug-in hybrid. The hybrid prototype achieved more than 230 miles per gallon, according to Aptera.
