FuelVapor Technologies, which is based in British Columbia, says it has completed the first prototype of a three-wheeler called alé. The car uses the company's own patent-pending "fuel vapor technology," which allows a car to run on vapors rather than liquid fuel. FuelVapor says the alé can already reach 92 mpg and can travel from Vancouver, B.C., to San Francisco on one 10-gallon tank of gas.

But the alé isn't just about fuel efficiency. The company designed it for performance, too, and says the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5 seconds. The alé's body is made of a hand-layed fiberglass composite, and it's got a Turbo Charged 1500cc engine under the hood.
