Photos: Peering into energy's future

BP America showed off its solar buggy, an all-terrain vehicle that uses two electric motors, fueled by a solar panel on the roof. The solar buggy can carry 880 pounds, and its motor runs at 30 horsepower with more than 170 pounds of torque.
